Beth, Sam and I do it every year (although Fi joined us this year as well) and we go somewhere different every time. To be honest, we don't mind too much where we actually go. Our only criteria are that we have a bach with a spa and plenty of wine and coffee!
This year's trip was to the beautiful Mangawhai Heads...just stunning!
I'd forgotten how much I love this part of NZ. It was my first time back to this region in about 8 years, and it was my first time back to Mangawhai Heads since 2004! Why did I leave it so long?!
We had the loveliest weekend, walking along beaches, swimming a little bit, paddling in the waves...
And sometimes just sitting with a book and a glass or two of wine in the afternoon!
One night we took an evening stroll along the estuary....
